Workplace Bullies and How to Cope with Them: The issue of bullying continues to rear its ugly head in all forms and in all places, work included. Recent legislative initiatives strongly suggest that bullying at work will eventually become actionable if it is not already. Learn about the different types of workplace bullying, proper ways to deal with these issues, and ways to train employees to recognize and deal with this sensitive issue. – Sarah Lemmert

A Realistic Look at Violence in the Workplace: One need go no further than today’s headlines to learn of yet another workplace tragedy. This session will focus on recent trends – who is affected, where these crimes occur, what to look for and how to minimize organizational liability. We will break down today’s climate and analyze the different types of workplace violence that confront our employees and how to shield us all from harm going forward. – Bert Randall

What Keeps You Up at Night: This session will focus on issues that affect you most in your day to day duties. We will survey the landscape of recent legislative and regulatory trends, touching on Maryland’s new non-compete law, the new overtime requirements, drugs at work, and other problems that you encounter. We will facilitate a large group discussion of practical solutions and policy ideas to consider bringing back to your workplace. – Tamara Goorevitz
